Went to WWWF in 1975, teaming with Chief Jay Strongbow to win the WWWF tag titles. After undergoing neck surgery, went back to Iraq to introduce professional wrestling there. Although he was a classmate of Saddam Hussein, Hussein viewed his presence with suspicion, and he never ventured back there again. Went to AWA in 1981, as Sheik Adnan al-Kaissie. Firstly teamed with Jerry Blackwell, then retired from in-ring action and acted as a manager to Blackwell and Ken Patera, among others.

When AWA folded, he went back to WWF as “General Adnan”, managing Sgt Slaughter to the WWF title, as well as managing Iron Sheik (as “Col. Mustafa”). Left WWF in 1992, and started World Allstar Wrestling Alliance with Ken Patera.
