The website devoted to preserving the history of Australian wrestling.

We're in the process of renovating and moving some things around so some things may look a little strange but the aim is to minimise disruption.

This website was designed in 2012 with a scope of covering present and past wrestling in Australia.
The scope will change to prioritise the older stuff and make that a bit more accessible.

Paul Jones / Al Fredericks

Toured Australia : - 1965 (as Al Fredericks), 1970

Began wrestling in Texas under the promotion of his trainer, Paul Boesch in 1964. Toured Australia in 1965 as a mid-card face. Wrestled Gene Kiniski for the NWA World Hwt title in 1968. Returned in 1970 under the name of Paul Jones, as an upper-mid card ladies' favourite. Settled in Florida for several years, becoming a heel and wrestling as "Number One" Paul Jones. Received many shots at NWA champs Dory Funk Jr and Jack Brisco. Won every title available in Florida before relocating in the Mid-Atlantic. 

Began wrestling in Mid-Atlantic as a face in 1976, winning the NWA World tag title with Ricky Steamboat, before turning heel once again. Had several runs with the NWA World tag title with various partners before turning his sights to managing other wrestlers. Formed "Paul Jones' Army", which consisted at various times of Rick Rude, Masked Superstar, Ivan Koloff and Abbullah the Butcher, among others. 

Left Mid-Atlantic in the late 1980s, wrestling for South Atlantic Pro Wrestling before retiring in 1991.
