The website devoted to preserving the history of Australian wrestling.

We're in the process of renovating and moving some things around so some things may look a little strange but the aim is to minimise disruption.

This website was designed in 2012 with a scope of covering present and past wrestling in Australia.
The scope will change to prioritise the older stuff and make that a bit more accessible.

Baron Mikel Scicluna

Retired :- 1983

Died :- March 20, 2010 (cancer)

Also known as :- Mike Scicluna, Mike Valentino

Toured Australia :- 1968

Began wrestling as "Mike Valentino" in Canada before moving to San Francisco in 1958. Won the SF version of the World Tag titles with Gene Dubuque, defeating Ramon Torres and Dick Warren (Nick Bockwinkel). Held the belts for two months before dropping them to Ron Etchison and Buddy Rogers. Became a fixture in WWWF in the 60s. Won the WWWF US Tag titles with Smasher Sloan, taking the belts from Johnny Valentine and Antonio Pugliese in 1966 and holding them for six months before losing them to Spiros Arion and Antonio Pugliese in 1967.

Came to Australia in 1968. Won the IWA World Hwt title from Spiros Arion before losing it to Mario Milano. Also held the IWA World Tag titles with Cyclone Negro, swapping the belts with Mario Milano and Dominic de Nucci. Returned to WWWF and feuded with Bruno Sammartino for the WWWF World title. In 1972, teamed with King Curtis (and managed by Capt. Lou Albano) to win the WWWF World Tag titles from Karl Gotch and Rene Goulet. Held the belts for 3-1/2 months before losing them to Chief Jay Strongbow and Sonny King. Remained in WWWF for the rest of his career, wrestling mid-card, before retiring in 1983. Passed away in 2010, aged 80, after a battle with cancer.
