The website devoted to preserving the history of Australian wrestling.

We're in the process of renovating and moving some things around so some things may look a little strange but the aim is to minimise disruption.

This website was designed in 2012 with a scope of covering present and past wrestling in Australia.
The scope will change to prioritise the older stuff and make that a bit more accessible.

Dory Dixon

A high flyer. Was originally a weightlifter in his native Jamaica, being selected in the national team for the 1954 Central American & Caribbean Games in Mexico City. Remained in Mexico after the event, initially as an illegal alien. Made his wrestling debut in 1955 in EMLL. Became NWA World Lighthwt champion in 1958, defeating Al Kashey, before dropping the title in 1959 to Ray Mendoza. 

Debuted in US in 1961, wrestling in Texas and the Midwest. Won the Texas Hwt title twice in 1961, defeating Waldo von Erich and Jack Dalton (Don Fargo), losing it to Sputnik Monroe and The Mummy. Wrestled for Vincent J McMahon's WWWA promotion, becoming the first Hwt champion after defeating Buddy Rogers in 1963. Lost the belt shortly after to Karl von Hess. Toured Britain in 1968 and 1969, as well as Australia in 1969, featuring as an upper mid-card to main event fan favourite.  Returned to the US to wrestle in Los Angeles before heading back to Mexico.

In 1975, joined the newly-formed Mexican promotion, UWA. Wrestled main events there for years before winding down in-ring activity. After retiring in the mid-80s, became a Pastor in the 7th Day Adventist church.
